CHAPTER 07 – THE RECOVERY OF THE “ REMAINS” OF THE office dr. iagher francesco

On 29 March 2004 I retrieved the furniture and several things of my cabinet for the new seat in April, which I opened in Ventimiglia. Everything had remained in storage in Rome during those years. A comment: the furniture had been recovered at a value of French francs 550,000 from Mr. A. Garino (judicial liquidator) as the fabulous sum of Frf. 100,000 had been offered to the Court for the whole value of the goods. It’s not clear why this sum had been fixed as there weren’t debts higher than the assets. For my personal room the esteemed value was of French francs 1,870,000. But there were also another five furnished rooms and the receptionarea for an esteemed value over French francs 1,000,000. The “vultures” tried to raid my cabinet but without success.

But the worst was yet to come out: when the furniture was unwrapped and assembled I discovered the stolen goods from my cabinet :

-        small armchairs with ripped and cut fabric

-        scratched writing desks, broken chest of drawers and forced locks

-        cupboards with broken doors and bent shelves and forced locks

-        The plunder of stationery. There was a cupboard full of paper, files, staplers, pens, rubbers, and so on

-        a frame which contained N. Vouilloz's autographed T-shirt as world mountain bike champion.

-        books and law files that had been in my cupboard

-        as regards the mandate (diplomatic) given to me by the Republic of Liberia for the Bureau Maritime and the National Investments Commissions, there was no trace of the stamps, the dry seals, the headed letter paper , cargo books, a specific area atlas and even two flags.

-        As regards the "Association International des Economist" of which I was the President and Founder, there was no more trace of the stamps, the dry seals, the headed letter paper, the visiting cards and some enrolment certificates.

-        Many personal things such as a recorder, informatic material, books and a set of Mont Blanc pens, had disappeared.

-        Of the several managed companies all the headed letter paper, envelopes, stamps and so on was destroyed.

-        Furthermore a collection of PC IBM dated 1978, frames of Napoleonic period, paintings and other items disappeared .

I was told that as the storage unit had to be cleared out, everything had been thrown away. A different way to define “theft”. And much more upsetting was the oral declaration on 19 January 2004 that said: “as it concerns things without value for sale, they must be destroyed “.  I was obviously never informed of what happened. I was assured of the presence of a "judicial warden", but on the contrary everything was neglected, infact I discovered all what that is mentioned above. Furthermore I found a cheque which hadn't been cashed (?) sent to liquidator Garino who cashed it after a few years and this is the proof that the documental inspection had been done superficially. I don't know how to comment on such proceedings but I can say that it is unmatched in any other European country. I just think that anybody who reads what happened, might well reflect before "recklessly" beginning or risking their activity under such law security.
